We are proud to announce new cassette release’s by Ritual Howls and Gerten.
One of our favorite current bands is Ritual Howls who hail from Detroit. They recently released the excellent EP titled “Their Body” on vinyl via the Felte label and now the EP sees a CS release via Heartworm. We hear Cramps mixed with Sisters Of Mercy, Industrial by way of Spaghetti Western, a darkwave version of early Wall Of Voodoo, and so much more.
Felte says, “Ritual Howls are a unique brand of industrial rock with jangle-like guitars. Collaboratively, Ritual Howls create a surreal, introspective gloom that could fuel a disco in hell, a soundtrack to your favorite nightmares and most grisly fantasies.
The trio consists of Detroit’s Paul Bancell (vocals/guitars), Ben Saginaw (bass) and Chris Samuels (Synths, Samples, Drum Machines). They collect samples of the physical world and feed them with guitar, vox, bass, synth and drum machines to create an aura of darkness over a pop sensibility. Paul Bancell provides lyrics that Poe or Lovecraft would approve of while Chris Samuels and Ben Saginaw sculpt sounds that bring his macabre tales lurching into the world of the living.”

Gerten from Moscow is one of our favorite bands that we’ve come across. Combining analog synth minimalism, Gerten is a cross-genre synth band whose members Eugene Gin (vocals, lyrics) and Dee Grinski (synthesizers) and Constantine Morkovin (guitar, drums) are very active in various projects in Moscow.
Gerten’s sound is based on many different styles of electronic/synth/industrial music and has no restrictive frames by means of a multi-instrumentalist approach. Philosophical and poetic backgrounds have led them to researches of the gloomy sides of morals, traditions, and existence. Inspired by post-modern philosophy, marginal art of 60-x and 70-x, manifesto of surrealism and Russian avant-garde, they move from one extreme to another and between them. Definitely dark wave. Definitely punk.
